Finally we have decided to put in an air intake system for the Scion
XB after driving it around for over 6 months. The air intake we use is
the Injen short ram model in polished aluminum color; it comes with all
the hardware kit and instruction for easy installation. It's going to
be an easy job to put in the air intake system with basic mechanical skills
and the right tools in about one hour.
The following is Not an installation instruction, it is for product review purpose only. *We highly recommend our customers to go to a qualified mechanic for installation
Let's start the installation by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for safety reason, just in case any of the tools accidentally touch
the battery while you are working on the car and cause any electronic
problems. This would also help reset your OEM computer to adjust for the
increase air flow changed from the new intake, after you reconnect the
battery.

| Place the VSV mounting bracket on the transmission housing using one of
the screws from the factory lower air box housing. There is a bolt come
with the Injen air intake, but it is a bit smaller and did not make a tight
fit. Using the factory screw will help you get a secure fit for the VSV
mounting bracket. |
